Help. Does anyone know of a fish friendly way to get rid of snails? Have no idea how the little buggers got in but they are strting to get out of control. I am constantly picking them out and giving them to my friend to feed her puffers. I have tried some treatments but they only knock the snails out so you still have to fish around and you never get all of them! I also have a clown loach but either he is very lazy or just sick of snail as he doesn't seem to be touching them at the moment. Am contemplating getting another, younger specemin!!

You could try getting your own fresh water puffers, instead of catching them for your friends. As for clown loach's they will eat snails, also this is a fish that should be kept in groups of 5 or more. Also a fish friendly way to get rid of snails is to place a saucer in the tank with some food on, and wait for the snails to climb on the saucer and then remove the saucer complete with the snails on, which is possibly the easiest way to catch them. Also i dont like using a chemical to kill them off, as if you miss any dead snails they will foul your water Evil or Very Mad
